We would like to extend a special invitation to the MAR-AAR’s panel at the National AAR/SBL conference in San Antonio, Texas. The session is entitled, Earth-Honoring Faith and Climate Justice. Cynthia Moe-Lobeda of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and Church Divinity School of the Pacific will lead this session on Saturday, November 19th, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm CST at the Hilton Palacio del Rio hotel located at 200 S. Alamo St, San Antonio, TX in the El Mirador C West Room in the Conference Center on the 22nd Level.
Here is a brief abstract of the event:
The profound questions of climate change, climate crisis, and climate justice demand an equally profound theological/religious response. Dr. Moe-Lobeda will share insights and realizations from her ongoing career in cutting-edge work in eco-theology, liberation theology, and eco-ethics, including from her most recent book Resisting Structural Evil: Love as Ecological-Economic Vocation which won the 2013 Nautilus Book Award for social justice. How do we anticipate the way forward with compassion, courage, and conviction as we enter into exceedingly and increasingly uncertain ecological and economic frameworks for our models of community and civilization?
This event is free and open to everyone. Please join us for this engaging and essential presentation and discussion. You can contact MAR-AAR Vice President/President Elect Chris Fici at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any inquiries.
